Challenge: Design an interactive Escape Room game to teach learners how to recognize counterfeit bills.
Solution: I storyboarded, designed, and built prototypes of an interactive mystery game in Storyline 360. Using triggers, layers, motion paths, and variables, I created a gamified learning experience with an instructional goal.
Tools: Storyline 360, Camtasia, Canva
Challenge: Craft a video to showcase how my improv comedy skills will make me stand out on an instructional design team
Solution: Script, storyboard, and build out a video in Camtasia using animations, callouts, transitions, and captioning
Tools: Camtasia, YouTube Studio, Canva
Challenge: Astronomika is opening a new headquarters with an on-site clinic. The instructional design team Designers in Development was tasked with designing a HIPAA training to ensure all clinic staff are in compliance with the law.
Solution: The team worked through the end-to-end development of the learning solution, which ultimately was comprised of an eLearning course, Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT), participant and facilitator guides, and an assessment. We interviewed the SME, conducted a needs analysis, developed learning objects, scripted, storyboarded, and built out each deliverable in an iterative and highly collaborative process.
Results: We received praise for our design, particularly the participant and facilitator guides. We learned from the constructive feedback we received about how we would successfully implement this learning solution in a real-world scenario.
Tools: Articulate Rise, G Suite, Canva

Challenge: Close gaps in teacher ability to design engaging online instruction prior to the virtual opening to the 2020-2021 schools year.
Solution: An asynchronous "playlist" style learning module to introduce school faculty to the Google Slides add-on, Pear Deck.
Tools: Screencasting (Loom + YouTube Studio), Peardeck Padlet, Google Apps
Results: About 80% of school faculty using Peardeck to engage students on a daily basis
During the COVID-19 school closure in spring 2020, it was evident that there were gaps in school staff members' ability to use Google Classroom, our main learning management system (LMS), effectively. I designed and implemented this learning experience synchronously to teaching staff over our conferencing platform, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.
I designed and facilitated this learning experience in-person at a district-wide conference. The learning objective was to familiarize school staff with educational technology tools to support the district's Portrait of a Graduate initiative.
